Muslim Brotherhood Should Be Designated a Terrorist Organization

We have a critical opportunity to take a stand against the Muslim Brotherhood organization (MB) and the terror this organization has unleashed on Copts and the rest of the Egyptian society and many others worldwide.

Two bills have been introduced, one in the US Senate and the other in the US House of Representatives, which express the sense of Congress that: (1) the MB organization has met criteria for designation as a foreign terrorist organization, and (2) requires the Department of State to designate it as such.

These bills require the State Department to report to Congress within 60 days whether the MB meets the criteria for foreign terrorist designation and, if not, which criteria have not been met.

It’s unconscionable that the US still has not taken this action when countries such as Egypt, Syria, Russian, UAE, and Saudi Arabia have all declared the MB to be a terrorist organization, and a report by the UK House of Commons reached a similar conclusion.

Your help in getting these bills passed is vital. We need you to send a message to your federal legislators asking them to: 1) Cosponsor S. 2230 (Senate version) and H.R. 3892 (House version), and 2) Support the bill when it is brought to a full floor vote.

We have provided a letter which you can submit directly to your US Senator and Representative. Simply complete your information it will be directed to the correct senators and representative from your area.

No one understands the danger and threat the MB poses better than the Copts. The MB is the head of several subsidiary terrorist organizations worldwide with franchises in Europe and North America. Copts have borne the brunt of their discrimination and attacks. In recognition of this reality, the bill states that “the August 14, 2013 clearing of MB protests in Egypt resulted in attacks by MB supporters targeting the Coptic Christian community. Attacks included 70 churches and more than 1,000 homes and businesses of Coptic Christian families torched in the ensuing violence. During the MB protests, there were repeated reports of direct incitement against the Copts from leading MB figures”.

The bill notes that the MB has also stated that it is entering a “new phase” and calls on its followers to prepare for a “long, uncompromising jihad” against the Egyptian government.

In addition, The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom has noted the terror campaign by the MB directed against the Coptic community is not a new development and that Coptic Christians face ongoing violence from vigilante Muslim extremists.

The MB poses a threat not only to Copts but to the entire Egyptian society and the West, and seeks to undermine the work of the last two revolutions. It’s time for the US Government to finally acknowledges the MB for what it is; a terrorist organization that seeks the destruction of democracy and religious freedom for ALL EGYPTIANS in an effort to establish a Muslim caliphate worldwide.

Please do not delay and join us by sending your message today! When you’ve taken action, be sure to also share the campaign with your friends and family so we can build enough momentum to make a difference!

Sincerely,

Alex Shalaby

  1. By any measure the Muslim Brother Organization is the parent Organization from which ALL subsequent Islamic Extremism was born and acquired several names. These Organizations espouse the SAME VIOLENT IDEOLOGY. Hassan El-Banna started the MB Organization in 1928 and wrote the manifesto to delineate it’s road-map. The 9/11 attack on the trade center and the several banal brutal cruel barbaric animalistic acts throughout the world are but its offsprings. It is amazing that Hamas and Al-Quada are designated as terrorist Organizations while America supported the MB rule in Egypt. Let us stop this schitzophrenic behavior and call the MB by there real name.l: A TERRORISTIC ORGANIZATION
