Margelov expressed his country’s readiness to resume cooperation with the Arab Spring countries, the Russian Ria Novosti news agency reported. He added that Russia and Egypt decided to resume the work of the Joint Ministerial Committee for Economic Cooperation.
He added that Russia’s policies toward North Africa and Middle East reflect the main principles of Russian foreign policy, which seeks achieving peace, security, stability and democracy and uniting efforts to resolve international issues. He stressed the necessity of maintaining the independence of countries and that Russia rejects regime change via foreign involvement.
