-

It continued, “As we decide to withdraw from the sessions of the national dialogue, we do not mean to isolate ourselves or retreat from participation in the public national action, and do not mean to be reluctant to serve the nation, but we mean, in the first place, a national and faithful commitment to participate in a serious dialogue under a national umbrella that brings all Egyptians together to participate openly in the framework of a clear agenda, and abide by the outcome of the dialogue, particularly with regard to the most important issue, the proposed amendments to some articles of the Constitution, which is difficult to achieve without an agreement and commitment by political institutions, party forces and social organizations.”

The statement was signed by Dr. Suzy Nashid, Dr. Sameh Fawzi (representing the Coptic Orthodox Church), Father Rafik Greish (representing the Catholic Church), and Rev. Refaat Fathi (representing the Evangelical Church).
