He told MCN that he decided to make some minor repairs, adding that the church owns a neighboring house, which they cannot annex to the church.
On Sunday, he said, Muslims rallied in front of the church, confronting the church’s youth who were bringing building materials to the site. They demanded Pastor Michael stop the renovation.
“One of the Muslims called security forces who came to the church,” he said. “They accompanied me to the police station. They asked me to suspend the renovation until I obtain the necessary licenses, and composed a police report in this regard.”
