The draft law has to do with a unified personal status to adherents of the three churches in Egypt: the Catholic, Orthodox, and Evangelical churches. The bill was prepared and submitted to the parliament under former President Hosni Mubarak.
"Heneidy asked the three churches to urgently prepare their suggestions and submit them to the committee to approve the bill as soon as possible," said the sources.
Andrea Zaki, deputy head of the Evangelical Church, said he would meet with Safwat Bayady, head of the sect, Thursday to study the bill.
"The law will solve many problems for Copts," Zaki added.
