415926 01 02 JOIN THE OCT. 19 PROTEST AGAINST THE MASSACRE CARRIED BY EGYPT’S MILITARY FORCES AGAINST THE COPTSWhen and Where: Wednesday, October 19.  Washington D.C. – In front of the Pennsylvania Av main gate of the White House from 11:00 to 04:00 p.m

Coptic Solidarity condemns the massacre by the Egyptian Military forces on Sunday October 9, 2011 against the peaceful demonstration by the Coptic community and the occasional Muslim supporters in front of the State TV headquarters, at Maspero, Cairo to protest the recent burning of a church in Aswan, southern Egypt. This unjustified aggression left 27 dead and over 300 persons wounded.  Military Security officers & soldiers initiated this barbaric and inhuman attack on this peaceful demonstration to silent the Copts. The military forces not only used live ammunition to kill the demonstrators but used their armored vehicles that they got from the USAID to deliberately crush Christians under their treads.

This is a new and most dangerous precedent in which the military forces carried out the attack while in the past it condoned such attacks when carried out by the mob that enjoyed total impunity.    Please join our peaceful demonstration to protest the barbaric attacks and oppressions, which are on a rapid increase both in frequency and in severity.

Please refer to the International Religious Freedom Report 2010, issued on Nov. 17, 2010 by the US Department of State for more information on the subject: http://www.state.gov/g/drl/rls/irf/2010/148817.htm and the May 2011 report of the US Commission on Religious Freedom (USCRF) that moved Egypt to “CPC” (country of particular concern), that categories the worst countries that violate religious freedom Rights of its citizens.

Please join us, and invite others, in a peaceful demonstration to protest the oppression of the Copts in Egypt and all other minorities in the Middle East.  It is your MORAL OBLIGATION.

Buses will leave in front of St Mark Coptic Church, Fairfax, VA and St Moses Coptic Church, Ashburn, VA at 10:00 AM on Wednesday October 19, 2011.
