Islamic State Attacks in Paris Must Galvanize World Leaders to Confront Jihadist Terrorism

-

parisatack3 Islamic State Attacks in Paris Must Galvanize World Leaders to Confront Jihadist TerrorismCoptic Solidarity condemns in the strongest possible terms the November 13 barbaric attacks in Paris by Islamic State jihadists.

These heinous murders were justified by the Islamic State as attacking "the carrier of the banner of the Cross in Europe." French President Francois Hollande aptly described this as an "Act of War," which indeed it was, not only against France, but against the entire civilized world.

The Paris murders are the latest in a wave of global attacks by the Islamic State, awakening the world to a mortal threat posed by the Islamic State and their Islamist ideologues who have long been terrorizing the Christians and other native religious minorities of the Middle East.
Coptic Solidarity reiterates its call on world leaders to confront Islamist jihadism in all of its forms, and the urgent need to protect the most vulnerable Christian communities of the Middle East who stand on the front lines against this barbarism.

We offer our thoughts and prayers for the victims and their loved ones.
