According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the two boys, who were discovered eating, had signs around their necks that announced “no religious justification” for their so-called crimes. Observatory leader Rami Abdel Rahma told The Independent that the boys were found “hanging on crossbars” and their bodies were left on display until late on June 22.
Abu Muhammad al-Adnani, a spokesman for ISIL, sent a message to jihadists on June 23 to turn Ramadan, which began last week, into a time of “calamity for the infidels…Shi’ite and apostate Muslims,” urging the escalation of attacks in Iraq, Syria and Libya.
Al-Adnani also urged Arabs in the Levant and Saudi Arabia to rise up against their “tyrannical leaders.”
A recent report by the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child revealed “several cases of mass executions of boys, as well as reports of beheadings, crucifixions of children and burying children alive.”
In May, ISIL terrorists in Libya executed three brothers of a local family who they suspected were supporters of the local Libyan government.
“We are really deeply concerned at torture and murder of children,” UN Committee on the Rights of the Child member Renate Winter said. “The scope of the problem is huge.”
