As the U.S. continues threatening to cut aid off from Egypt in response to the popular June 30 revolution that saw the Obama administration’s Muslim Brotherhood allies ousted, growing numbers of Egyptians are calling on Egypt to refuse to accept any aid from the U.S. Yesterday evening an organization calling itself “No Aid” (from the U.S.) stood in front of the U.S. embassy in Cairo holding signs saying that, to date, they already have over 400,000 Egyptian signatures calling for a halt of U.S. aid. Other, more familiar signs they held — such as “U.S. stop supporting terrorism” — indicated why No Aid is calling for a halt to U.S. aid: the price for such aid, as U.S. leaders like John McCain have made clear, is that the Muslim Brotherhood and its jihadi allies and affiliates — the terrorists — return to power and politics in Egypt.
