Interns

Intern Opportunities

Coptic Solidarity seeks interested candidates to apply for our internships. We seek to mentor and train individuals who will become leaders of the next generation in Coptic advocacy. We believe it is important to incorporate the innovation and ideas of the next generation in our efforts.

We see this as a mutually beneficial opportunity to provide interns with useful experience and recommendations, and to assist our organization with maximizing our efficacy through expanding the quantity and quality of the work we can perform.

We will work with Universities to ensure students desiring course credit can attain it. Coptic Solidarity will also provide reference letters to interns who have performed their duties to a satisfactory level.
All internships are unpaid learning opportunities.
Length of service: minimum length of internship is 4 months. Coptic Solidarity can accommodate the University semester schedule or longer internships depending on the availability/objectives of each intern. Coptic Solidarity strives to personalize mentorship and tasks to an intern’s specific area of study. For more information, please contact [email protected]

Annual Conference Intern

Coptic Solidarity’s annual conference is our main awareness event each year. To date we have hosted 6 annual conferences in Washington, DC. The conference in 2015 was our most successful event to date. It included a full day of presentations and visits by Members of Congress on Capitol Hill, a banquet dinner attended by diplomats from a variety of countries who shared about their concern and actions to support minorities in the Middle East, and conclude by another day of lively panel discussions at a local hotel. Planning this critical event is time-consuming and Coptic Solidarity seeks an intern who is willing to learn from such experience.

Internship Qualifications:

  • We seek hard-working individuals who are good at following guidance in a timely manner
  • We seek individuals with a Coptic heritage or special interest in Coptic issues
  • We seek individuals with creativity and innovative ideas
  • We seek individuals with good communication skills who can interact in a variety of settings with a positive and respectful attitude

Sample activities that the intern will learn during this internship include:

  • Sending and following up on speaking invitations
  • Coordinating flights and accommodations for speakers
  • Assembling conference folders, programs, and related materials
  • If possible, serving as an assistant to the Event Coordinator and Coptic Solidarity staff/board during the event. This includes many activities such as helping guests sign-in, providing information and directions to speakers and attendees, communicating scheduling changes between staff and speakers, and much more!

This internship is ideal for an individual seeking “hands-on” experience with Coptic advocacy and the political sphere. There will be ample opportunities to interact with guests, speakers, diplomats, and the Coptic community supporting our awareness and advocacy work.
