The prosecution of East Alexandria moved to investigate the crime, which occurred in the Ibrahimiya area, and the investigations and inquiries are still ongoing. The motives behind the incident have yet to be revealed.
Chief of Alexandria Security said in a press statement that the apartment is located on the sixth floor and consisted of three rooms, a kitchen and a bathroom. He added that the body of the husband, Youssef Nakhla, an employee at a hotel in Sharm el-Sheikh, was found lying on the living room floor stabbed in the abdomen, chest and right shoulder. His wife, Abeer Hanna, a housewife, was found dead lying on her back in bed. Their son, Michael was lying on his back next to his mother. The husband’s sister, Mona Nakhla, a housewife, was found lying on her back.
The security chief said that all of them were wearing their clothes and the apartment contents were scattered.
He pointed out that the bodies of the victims were transferred to the morgue. The bureau of investigation was assigned to investigate the incident and arrest the culprits.
Copts have been subjected to fierce attacks by Islamists since the ouster of President Mohamed Morsi and the breakup of the Muslim Brotherhood sit-ins in Rabaa el-Adaweya and Nahda squares on August 14.
The attacks resulted in the deaths of several Copts and the burning and looting of 82 churches and Coptic institutions in different parts of the country.
