Faragallah added that while several masked men were getting him out of his car, people gathered and intervened to save him but the abductors shot in the air and dispersed them. They managed to kidnap Faragallah and drove away in their car, leaving his car on the road.
Faragallah pointed out that the kidnappers searched him for money but found nothing. They seem to have feared that he would die while in their hands because he was bleeding, so they left him on the cliff of a canal near the village.
Faragallah noted he spent about 10 hours trying to climb out but he could not because of his injury.
On Sunday afternoon, a tuk-tuk driver named Sayed Sallam saw him and took him to Samalout hospital. His wife and brothers took him later to the Good Shepherd Hospital, as his condition was serious.
Faragallah said that the criminal law in Egypt needs to be reconsidered, calling for harsher punishment in such crimes so that everyone feels safe and secure and put an end to this phenomenon that frequently repeats.
Faragallah added that he is thinking of immigrating abroad because he does not feel safe in his country, and he expects that the “coming will be worse.”
On his part, Medhat Farag, Faragallah’s brother-in-law, said that Faragallah was found lying soaked in blood beside the Ibrahimiyah Canal in front of his village, pointing out that Faragallah had faced a kidnapping attempt by unknown people 6 months ago, but he managed to escape.
“The unidentified persons succeeded to kidnap this time after shooting his leg, and then beat him, leaving sporadic bruises on his body and face,” Farag added.
Farag noted that a silver-colored Lancer car was found in front of the village with spots of blood in the back seat. When checked, it was found that the car’s driver is called Mohamed Mamdouh Makhlouf. A police report was filed with Samalut Police Station to find out the real owner of the car.
