Marina Shalaby, a researcher at The Washington Institute for Near East Policy, is declared the winner of the Coptic Solidarity Writing Contest for 2014.
Our Board of Directors had invited Coptic Youth beginning of January to submit a scholarly article on the topic of:
“Copts in North America: How to Be More Supportive of the Copts in Egypt?”
Contest Rules:
- Participants are 35 years or younger.
- Publish-ready, original work written in English.
- Scholarly format: Introduction, Background, Body, Discussion and References.
- Manuscript: 4-6 pages, double spaced and numbered Word document (1997-2003 Word or later)
- Submission date: Deadline for submission is April 15 th, 2014.
- All manuscripts are submitted via e-mail to: [email protected] (indicate: Writing Contest)
- Manuscripts are reviewed and judged by a 3-member panel and results will be announced @ www.copticsolidarity.org by May 15th, 2014.
- Prize: One Winner will be selected and will receive a 1000 US$ check as well air ticket and hotel (if applicable) to attend the CS Fifth Annual Conference, to be held in Washington DC on June 26-28, 2014.
- Winning article to be presented at the Conference and published in the CS website and Newsletter.
