In a Monday evening press statement to Sada el-Balad newspaper, Azer said all the laws that will facilitate work for Egyptian and foreign investors, reduce unemployment and provide job opportunities for young people will be the most important issues to be discussed.
Azer added that Copts cannot be excluded from these laws because they are Egyptians. She explained that the enforcement of the principles of equality, non-discrimination and citizenship will solve all these problems. She pointed out that she puts a law for building of churches on her agenda.
She said the current parliament is a step in the way of citizenship as 36 Copts won seats, which is unprecedented.
"I think we are on the right path towards citizenship," Azer said.
Margaret Azer won a seat in the Egyptian parliament in 2011 and also won a seat in the recent parliamentary elections.
